The Cunning Little Vixen was an exciting and ambitious choice for the Pacific Opera’s major 2015 production, but in the hands of director Michael Campbell, conductor Alex Briger and artistic director Simon Kenway, it was always going to be a sensation.

The hero image, shot by Paul Henderson-Kelly and featuring the gorgeous Ela Ray Markstein, needed to communicate the raw, dark brooding energy of the production. The idea had been to keep the shot simple and stripped back, focused on the animal energy it contains. The image presents the face of the gypsy and the vixen, rolled into one, wild and alert, peering out from a ‘forest’ of hair.

The image was used across posters, flyers, postcards, ads, and the show program.
